Kate is a classically trained and certified 200 hour-level yoga teacher who discovered therapeutic yoga as a way to strengthen, stabilize and balance her musculoskeletal system. As her physical body healed, she broadened her knowledge by attending workshops with nationally recognized yoga teachers and practicing reformer based Pilates. Additionally, she began studying the ancient Indian healing system of Ayurveda, also known as the ‘sister science’ of Yoga. While yoga looks at one’s relationship to their body, Ayurveda provides guidance for interacting with the outside world, specifically addressing how to live in harmony with the changing seasons and cycles of life. Kate did her yoga teacher training at the Himalayan Institute of Pittsburgh which offers a broad education in yoga, meditation, pranayama, Ayurveda, and yoga philosophy.
In addition, Kate has been a regular student of Pilates, doing reformer classes, private lessons and training with Chrissy Ruby, the director of PHI Pilates Studio.
Kate is grateful to her many teachers and wants to pay it forward and help others to heal their bodies, minds and spirits by applying principles and techniques from her combined knowledge base of yoga, pilates and Ayurveda.
